Interesting fact...
Did you know that many lamps and reflective devices have to satisfy certain visibility requirements as outlined in SAE standards? (S5.3.1.1).  For example, a taillamp has to meet certain photometric performance at 45° inboard.  As you can see from the photo below, it is possible that some aftermarket accessories may create a noncompliance of this requirement.
If your state has adopted FMVSS No. 108 into its laws, it may be a violation for these items to be used on your highways. ford_f150_2001_2.jpg (129621 bytes)
